If there's one thing that I learned from school so far, is that its important to conceptualize. So, here's the concept behind this:

Zordon was born without limbs. This sketch represents him when he was in college. As you can see from the facial expression, he was a lonely guy. A pessimist. Nobody wanted to hang around him as he was "weird" amongst the rest of students. Everything about him was thought of as "weird". In fact, some people don't like his eyebrows for some unjustified reasoning.

Well, he then built a robot called Alpha. Of course, he built it with the help of his parents because of his disability to handle tools. But there were so many attempts at creating the perfect robo-companion, that his parents gave up on the fifth attempt and decided to name it Alpha 5. And to prevent Zordon from rejecting and throwing a hissyfit, his parents shaved-off his mustache, made a giant test-tube out of magnifying glass and left him in the desert, where the only mode of transportation to the desert is by teleportation through wristwatches, which he will, later on, distribute to 5 good-looking teenagers. He will name them as "Rangers" when, in fact, he really wanted to name them "Friends". Mighty Morphin Power Friends. But he thought that the name, wouldn't be good for a tv show.

Of course, this is just up to you to decide whether I'm telling the truth or not. But I'm telling you exactly what he told me.

This is crap at its purest form.
